Atkins Search is recruiting a Senior Project Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected Construction Consultancy with a national project portfolio and a growing presence in the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior PM or Chartered Senior PM to join a forward-thinking consultancy delivering high-quality projects across healthcare, student accommodation, leisure, local authority developments and much more.

ROLE
As a Senior Project Manager, you will take a leading role in the successful delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring programmes, budgets, quality standards and client expectations are met.
You will be responsible for project leadership from inception to completion, risk management, stakeholder coordination and client communication, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.
This role will suit an experienced Senior PM or Chartered Senior PM who enjoys a balance of project delivery, client engagement and commercial input.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Project Manager employed by our client, your duties will include:
- Leading and managing multi-disciplinary project teams across a portfolio of schemes
- Overseeing full project lifecycle management from feasibility to handover
- Developing project briefs, business cases and delivery strategies
- Managing programmes, budgets, risks and procurement routes
- Ensuring robust governance, accurate reporting and quality control
- Providing strategic project advice to clients at all stages
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and chairing key project meetings
- Identifying and securing new work opportunities
- Supporting work winning, bid writing and client development
- Mentoring and developing junior project management staff
- Upholding best practice and professional standards (APM/RICS preferred)
- Working from the Birmingham office 3 days per week, with 2 days from home
- Managing your working pattern flexibly with complete autonomy over hours
PERSON
The ideal Senior Project Manager will demonstrate:
- Chartered (MAPM/MRICS) or working towards chartership with strong relevant experience
- Proven consultancy project management background, ideally 4+ years in a senior role
- Strong understanding of project governance, procurement, programme management and risk management
- Experience delivering projects in sectors such as healthcare, leisure, student accommodation or wider public sector
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills
- Commercial awareness with confidence in client-facing activity and work winning
- Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and secure repeat business
- Ambitious with a long-term mindset and interest in contributing to business growth

This role is based in Birmingham, with projects located throughout the UK. Hybrid working allows for a productive balance between office collaboration and home-working flexibility.
