The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a mixed Year 5 and Year 6 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support academic progress, confidence and wellbeing. You will be joining a committed team that values collaboration, professional development and high-quality teaching practice.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English to raise attainment and support writing outcomes
- Confidently teach Humanities (History and Geography)
- Assess, track and report on pupil progress
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and safeguarding
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), although not essential, and relevant experience.
Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5/6 preferred)
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Confidence teaching Humanities
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- A reflective and collaborative approach to teaching
